Well, today I should talk three minutes about anything.
But – ehm – well, you know it`s not really easy to find a good topic.
Believe me, I’ve tried hard. I sat at home in my room trying to find anything that could give me a clue what I should talk about. I looked around me but there were only books, dolls and clothes. But I guess you wouldn’t be interested in my rags. So I decided to go into the living room hoping to get inspired by the TV. Of course, I wasn’t searching for a topic, but you can’t deny that watching TV is far more interresting than working for school. Later when my mother asked me what I was doing, I told her that I couldn’t find a topic for my mini talk. She gave me the wise hint to search in the world wide web and so I did. But even there I couldn’t find anything. I wrote a lot of e-mails to my friends and finally I decided to talk about one of my favorite books of my childhood. Maybe you ask yourself, “Why isn’t she talking about that book?” That’s a very good question. Well, it’s a silly book which I got when I was eight years old. And I was ashamed to talk about it and you wouldn’t have been interested in. When I prepared a cup of tea, I suddenly got the great idea to talk about the history of tea. But in the world wide web I only found a giant article which was about ten pages long. And I simply was too lazy to short the whole text. Then I went on searching for teddybears. But the text I found was in german, and guess what? I was too lazy to translate it. Finally I searched for the history of pudding but all I could find were recipes. Desperated I left the computer. Then my mother had an idea: She asked in a knowledge forum for help. Many suggestions came: My cuddly toy, my hobby, history of football, my tiresome brothers and sisters, my favorite artist, the Beatles, Rap and some others.
But the greatest, most exiting and absolutely extra ordinary idea was to talk about how difficult it is to find a topic for a mini talk. Well, I’ve chosen that topic - and I guess, my three minutes are over.
Thank you for your attention.
Gruß
Hanna
