I have read the novel “Give a Boy a Gun “, which is written by Morton Rhue.
It is puplish in 2000 and the publisher is Simon & Schusters Children’s Publishing
Division, New York.
No. 2.) General information about the book
The book ”Give a Boy a Gun” is about two boys, who are being bullied by the
Football players and start someday a school rampage.
“Give a Boy a Gun” is a book for young adults.
Morton Rhue used to like to write books for young adults, because it was not
necessary to write about to deal with murder, adultery, and vavious other immoral
or criminal activities. But nowadays such themes are up-to-date.
Brutality and criminality are growing.
And that’s one of the reason why Morton Rhue write the book.
He writes about a school rampage.
An other inspiration for the author are the school rampage in Columbine.
Two pupils (17 years old and 18 years old) start in april 1999 at the Columbine
High School a school rampage.
They kill 12 pupil, one teacher, hurt 24 other and then they kill themselves.
It is not the first school rampage but the brutalst.
The school rampage at the Columbine High School are the symbol for shooting at schools.

Morton Rhue is born on 5th May 1950 in New York.
He study literature and works as a journalist, before he becomes an author.
By the way he is an avid tennis player, skier and surfer.
Morton is an author, who writes books for young adults.
His wife called Pamela Older and the both have two kids.
They live together in New York.
Rhue’s amous books are: The Wave, Asphalt Tribe and Boot Camp.
Morton Rhue is just his pen name (pseudonym) in Germany.
His real name is Todd Strasser. The pen name is a wordplay, because Todd sounds
in German like “Tod” and in French means that “Mort”.
Strasser sounds in German like “Straße” and “Strasse” that means in Frenche “Rue”.
Strasser is the same. The result is Mort Rue and with a little bit
American accent = Morton Rhue.
No. 4.) Short summary
The story is about Gary Searle and Brendan Lawlor. They are both the same age
and go to the Middleton High School. Gary and Brendan are outsiders
and build a group belong Ryan and Allison. In that case they are tease by the
footballplayers (the jocks) everyday, especially by Sam Flach.
Ever and anon Gary becomes unhappy and depressed and Brendan changes, too.
He becomes angry and aggressive. So they plan to stop the jocks, because they
have enough. This guys breaking the rules and beating other, but no ihne tried
to stop them. Therefore they decide to go to the dance, beweaponed by guns.
After that they surprise the people and shackle them. Now they can take revenge
and Brendan shot Sam in the kneecap. Its overmuch for Gary, that’s why he
kills himself. The people on the floor use the option to attack Brendan.
In this way, he lose his gun and the jocks hit and kick him until he is unconscious.
