Hi ,

könnt ihr bitte meinen englischen Brief an einem guten Freund Korrektur lesen?
Ich wäre für eure anregungen und Verbesserungsvoschläge sehr dankbar,

right now i am waiting for my flight to San Diego now and relaxing
in the boarding area. I am bored at that moment.

Your thirst of Information into history, religions (Islam,etc)
and languages remind me of my ucrainian history and german teacher at my college time.
He had a very deep knowledge into the philosophy of various Religions, expecially
islam and judaism and history in general. Partially he could Speak arab, jewish and
Latin. That’s why i asked you few days ago if you have learned a bit jewish next to arab too. :wink:
He was a very a inward- resting man , who was able to get across his Knowledge convincingly.
(Er war ein sehr in sich ruhender Mann, der sein Wissen überzeugend rüberbrachte)

Do you still intent to be a teacher or do you abandon this thought?

Right now (im Englischen muss hier Großbuchstabe stehen, auch nach dem Komma in der oberen Reihe) I (groß!) am waiting for my flight to San Diego ( kein weiteres now) and am relaxing in the boarding area.

Besser wäre: I am relaxing right now in the boarding area waiting for my flight to San Diego. I am bored.

Your thirst for information about history, different religions (Islam, etc.) and languages remind s (kein Space, aber sonst funzt der Fettdruck nicht) me of my U krainian (mit k) history and my G erman teacher at college.

He had a great knowledge
or
He had a deep understanding
of the philosophy of various religions, especially I slam and J udaism, (ja, Komma) and history in general.

Den nächsten Satz verstehe ich nicht ganz, meinst du er sprach Arabisch und Hebräisch (?) und Lateinisch … partially?

He could speak A rab, H ebrew and L atin (to some degree - das wäre partially, aber damit reduzierst du seine Sprachkenntnisse ziemlich, ich würde es weglasen). That’s why I aske you a few days ago if you had learned a bit of H ebrew (keinesfalls „Jewish“, es gibt keine jüdische Sprache) as well as A rabic.

He was a man who could impart his knowledge convincingly while staying grounded (in himself - ich mag die Formulierung mit dem Anhang nicht, würde sie weglassen).

Do you still plan /want to be a teacher or have you abandoned this idea?

Siboniwe hat das im großen und ganzen gut korrigiert. Ich würde davon an folgenden Stellen abweichen:

I´m waiting. In der Umgangssprache wird „I am“ normalerweise abgekürzt.

I´m just rather bored. Ich bin gerade ziemlich gelangweilt. „Just“ gehört auf jeden Fall rein, das „ziemlich“ muss nicht sein, lockert aber auf.

„Various“ ist auf jeden Fall korrekt. Das „different“ bei Siboniwe ist zwar nicht falsch, betont aber die Unterschiede, während das „various“ die Vielfalt hervorhebt. Ich würde das „various“ vorziehen. solange das Thema nicht inhaltlich mit Akzent auf den Differenzen diskutiert wird.
