Hi everybody,
lange nicht mehr hier gewesen.
I have a question regarding the use of „in dependence of“. A friend (native German who speaks v. good English) recently made a comment about water quality which varies „in dependence of“ the external temperature.
This got me thinking. I personally would say „which varies depending (or dependent) on the ext. temp.“, but having googled it, it looks as though „in dependence of“ is often used in technical articles. Having said that, most of them seem to stem from Germany…
Hmm. Any comments?
Thanks and best regards,
MacD
