ich möchte ein Formular erstellen und würde gerne die Zeilen und Spalten in mm/cm eingeben.
Weiß jemand Rat ?

zumindest bis EXCEL97 (damit arbeite ich) geht es nicht. Meines Wissens geht das auch in den neueren Versionen nicht.
Die Spaltenbreite ist immer ein Vielfaches der mittleren Zeichenbreite der für die Formatvorlage Standard gewählten Schriftart und Größe. Eine Umrechnung in cm ist also abhängig von deinen persönlichen Einstellungen in der Datei.
Die Zeilenhöhe wird in Punkt angegeben. Diesen Wert kann man in cm umrechnen.
1 pt = 2,54/72 cm = 0,035277778 cm
oder
1 cm = 28,35 pt

Hallo Marcela,
ich gehe mal davon aus, dass Du die Breite und Höhe der Spalten bzw. Zeilen in mm oder cm eingeben möchtest.
Ich benutze OpenOffice 1.1.4 und dort setze ich z.B. eine Spalte aktiv durch klick auf z.B. „A“ und im nun erscheinenden Kontextmenü wähle ich „Spaltenbreite“ und kann im nächsten Fenster meine Angaben in cm eingeben.
Unter Optionen > Tabellendokument > Allgemein kann man aber auch andere Masseinheiten einstellen: MM; CM; Zoll; Point; Pixel.

die Spaltenbreite gibt die durchschnittliche Anzahl von Zeichen der
Standardschriftart an, die in die Spalte reinpassen sollen. Bei
Proportionalschriften wird als Zeichen die Zahl 0 verwendet.
Und vielleicht hilft ja das Nachfolgende weiter.

There’s no exact formula because the characters are of different
widths. There are 72 points to an inch, so 0.5 inches is 36 pt. Font
sizes such as „36 pt“ however don’t refer to the height of the letters
but to the height of the block of lead on which they would have been
cast in the old days.
In most ordinary proportionally spaced fonts, the width of the „m“ is
approximately equal to the point size, and characters such as i and l
are very much narrower. The most reliable way to estimate the number
of characters per inch is to print out several samples of the kind of
text you will be using, measure the width and count the characters,
and work out the average.
Automatic line spacing in Microsoft Office is usually approximately
120% of the size: so 10 pt type would normally have about 6 lines to
the inch.
If you need to automate the process, the Windows API provides
functions for calculating the width of a string of characters in a
given font and size. You may also be able to do it entirely within VBA
by inserting the text you need in a cell, formatting it, reducing the
dimensions of the cell until the text cannot be displayed, and then
autosizing and reading off the dimensions Excel has given it.
