maschine, gesteuert von zwei Militärpiloten,
beim vierten Landeanflug im Nebel abgestürzt.
Keine Überlebenden (bisher gefunden). Die
gesamte Regierungsspitze Polens tot.

Someone has to say this now. If you don't know polish mentality
you won’t be able to understand why this happened. To make the
story short - they (pilots) had to land, no matter what. That
was the matter of their honor. I can imagine the pressure on
them...
Diversion was not the option. And here we have the sad outcome.

Ein polnischer Militärpilot hat seinen Staatspräsidenten Lech
Kaczynski beim Flug nach Georgien am Dienstag in die Schranken
gewiesen. Während seiner Mission zur Unterstützung des georgischen
Präsidenten Michail Saakaschwili wollte Kaczynski nach der
Zwischenladung der Halbinsel Krim (Ukraine) direkt nach Tiflis
fliegen.
**Der Flugkapitän lehnte dies wegen Gefahren in dem von
Russland kontrollierten Luftraum ab. Am Bord trage er die
Verantwortung für die Sicherheit der Fluggäste, argumentierte
der Offizier. <u>Trotz Proteste des Staatsoberhauptes</u>, das laut
Verfassung den Streitkräften vorsteht, setzte sich der Pilot
durch und flog nach Aserbaidschan.**
Von dort musste Kaczynski eine vierstündige Autoreise auf
sich nehmen, bevor er am späten Dienstagabend die georgische
Hauptstadt erreichte.
Aber diesmal saßen alle militärischen Befehlshaber mit
im Flugzeug!

eine eindeutige Aussage wird erst die Auswertung des Voice Recorders geben (sowie dessen inhaltliche Veröffentlichung).
Meiner Meinung nach ist hier ein nicht zu übersehender Faktor das Persönlichkeitsprofil des Präsidenten und ebenfalls das des Kapitäns.
