helft mir mal bitte gerade auf die Sprünge…
Deutscher Staatsbürger fliegt nach Vancouver, bleibt dort ein paar Tage und will dann per Zug in die USA, Portland, reißen.
Rückflug erfolgt ab Seattle.
Da braucht es die ganz normale ESTA-Erlaubnis? Bin mir gerade nicht ganz sicher, ob das Formular nicht eine Flugnummer bei Einreise erfordert.

der Vollständigkeit halber:
If you are a citizen of a VWP country, and you are traveling by land to the United States, you do not have to apply for ESTA. If you are coming to the U.S. by air or sea, you DO have to apply for ESTA.
If you are not a citizen of a VWP country, you are required to have a visa, and therefore ESTA does not apply to you.

Aber soweit ich weiß, musst du sowas ähnliches wie ESTA für Kanada vorher ausfüllen oder?
Also das habe ich mal gehört, aber das weiß ich selbst nicht sicher. Denn ich war noch nie in Kanada. Nur in den USA und da bin ich auch nur mit dem Flugzeug bis jetzt angereist.
Ja, das ganze nennt sich ETA.
ETA war aber nicht Gegenstand der Anfrage, da die Person per Zug in die USA einreisen möchte.
So, hier ein Update, da ich gerade im Amtrak von Vancouver nach Seattle sitze.
Beim Grenzübertritt mit deutschem Pass ist ein genehmigtes ESTA Pflicht!! Kein ESTA, keine Fahrt!!!
