Idiomatische Wendung irischer Herkunft; findet sich beispielsweise auch bei James Joyce. Wobei das „of it“ nicht zur Wendung gehört, sondern sich auf „size of saucers“ bezieht. Direkte Übersetzung: „in Hörweite eines Eselsschreis“ - wobei man einen solchen auf recht große Entfernung hören kann. Konkrete Bedeutung hängt vom Kontext ab. Hier wie meistens (ironische) Antiphrasis: „ziemlich nahe dran“.

Ansonsten - wenn Dir schon keine eigenen Fragen mehr einfallen und Du welche aus anderen Foren hier herein kopierst, solltest Du, wenn Du den Link schon nicht angibst, wenigstens überprüfen, ob das Zitat auch korrekt ist. Naheliegender wäre es jedenfalls, (sich) erst einmal zu fragen, was „than Ii me set up“ eigentlich bedeuten soll. Heisst natürlich „than have me set up“ und „button“ ist selbstredend „buttons“, also Plural - und natürlich kommt hinter „creations“ erst einmal ein Komma und dann ein „and“.
